Overview
The EC Directives 2003/102 and 2009/631 require car manufacturers to provide pedestrian protection in passenger cars. In order to meet the requirements of these particular Directives, manufacturers must design vehicles with an appropriate crushable surface to cushion pedestrians, and to some extent cyclists, in the event of an impact.
Quality
Cellbond’s ligaments fully meet the EC Directives 2003/102 and 2009/631 bending stiffness and energy certification requirements. To ensure that each batch of ligaments meets the specified qualities a statistically significant sample form each batch is tested to destruction in the certification rig.
