APROSYS Final Event
27 February 2009.
Cellbond attended and exhibited at the APROSYS Final event. This took place on the 17th and 18th February 2009. The purpose of the event was to present the projects results and achievements. To this effect, a series of presentations, posters and demonstrators were available through the panel session, workshops and the exhibition area.
The first day, a panel discussed how the Aprosys results can be implemented to address the challenges articulated by the EU and industry. On the second day, two parallel interactive workshop sessions were organised focussing on how the new technologies and methods developed in the APROSYS Project can be used to influence and improve the protection of all road users.
Cellbond has participated to the project as a full partner with significant contribution in the areas of:
- SP1: Car Accidents
- SP3: Pedestrians / Cyclists Accidents
As a result of the work in SP1, the new side impact barrier has been further developed and the project’s conclusions have been passed on to WG13 (Working Group 13) for evaluation. A prototype barrier will be exhibited at the event giving the chance to the industry to discuss it with Cellbond’s representatives.
Cellbond has also developed and tested a passive safety bonnet, as part of the work for SP3. The results from the FE analysis carried out in-house as well as the test results at an independent test lab have shown great promise for this product.
